Arise"Ehipassiko" means "come and see" and is an invitation from the Buddha to all the people with an open mind to get acquainted with his teachings. Ehipassiko is firmly rooted in the old school of Sri Lanka, but adopts an open and non-sectarian approach.
Teachers of other traditions are regularly welcome guests. Ehipassiko especially wants to emphasize the universality of the Dhamma, beyond the borders. It aims at being an open and spiritual center, where people from different backgrounds but commonly interested in the Buddhist tradition come together to cultivate the calm, the quietness and the peace within oneself and in the world. The center is located in Antwerp - Deurne-Zuid (Kriekenhof district), a stone's throw away from Berchem Station and the Ring. In 2010 a branch was established in Mechelen. At Ehipassiko you can come for meditation, lectures, yoga, Qigong. There are meditation days, silent walks, silent retreats, film showings. Take a look at the weekly program and the calendar for the full overview. Each year there is the possibility to take part in a ten-day silent retreat in the Nilambe Buddhist Meditation Center (Sri Lanka). |
